This is an outstanding opportunity to kick-start your mining career with one of MACA's established, high-performing Drill & Blast teams across our Western Australian mine sites.  As a Trainee Driller, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing support to develop the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently operate a range of drill rigs.  Working a 2:1 roster, you will learn from experienced professionals, contribute to daily production targets and build the technical skills required to progress into a qualified Driller role.  You will become part of a collaborative, high-performing crew committed to safety, quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with the operation of production drilling equipment.
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Support drill setup, rod handling, and drilling activities.
  • Follow Drill & Blast plans and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
  • Complete training and competency requirements as part of the traineeship.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew members to achieve production goals.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current driver's licence (preferred).
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Previous experience in mining, construction, agriculture, heavy industry, or machinery operation is advantageous but not essential.
